Washington Post kunne i går fortælle, at en FISA-dommer i juli 2016 godkendte aflytning af Carter Page, en person i periferien af Trumps valgkamp.

Avisen tager det som et bevis på Trumps samarbejde med russerne, men en anden betydning er mere indlysende: Aflytning af en Trump-medarbejder blev godkendt af FISA, United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC, også kendt som FISA Court).

The FBI obtained a secret court order last summer to monitor the communications of an adviser to presidential candidate Donald Trump, part of an investigation into possible links between Russia and the campaign, law enforcement and other U.S. officials said.

The FBI and the Justice Department obtained the warrant targeting Carter Page’s communications after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power, in this case Russia, according to the officials.

Washington Post er i den grad gået  op i russer-sporet, at avisen ikke ser, at den virkelige nyhed er, at en FISA-dommer gav tilladelse til aflytning.

De liberale medier ikke har villet høre tale om, at FISA-dommere godkendte aflytning af Trump. Når en af dem selv bekræfter det, lader de som de ikke ser historien.

Hvis Carter Page er aflyttet, en af dem med tættest forbindelse til russerne, hvorfor har det ikke affødt en tiltale? Hvis de ikke en gang har noget på Page, hvem skulle de så have noget på?

Det spørgsmål bliver ikke stillet af Washington Post.

Page has not been accused of any crimes, and it is unclear whether the Justice Department might later seek charges against him or others in connection with Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
