Nyt

At skyde nmed automatvåben kræver træning. Hvor har han fået den?

David French i National Review:

…So, a person who’s “not a gun guy” has either expended untold thousands of dollars to legally purchase fully-automatic weapons, somehow found them on the black market, or purchased and substantially modified multiple semi-automatic weapons — and did so with enough competence to create a sustained rate of fire. This same person also spent substantial sums purchasing just the right hotel room to maximize casualties. I cannot think of a single other mass shooter who went to this level of expense and planning in the entire history of the United States.

A St. Louis gun expert says to purchase one fully automatic weapon could cost around $30,000.

Paddock had 10 weapons in his room.

Fox News:

Machine guns in the U.S. can cost upwards of $15,000 and require the buyer to undergo a personally intrusive and months-long application process with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The contention, if true, that the Las Vegas shooter used a full-auto firearm in his crime makes the act even more mind boggling than other tragic mass shootings. It means that the shooter somehow had access to extraordinarily rare and difficult-to-obtain weapons.

Så var der den omhyggelige planlægning. Paddock havde bestilt to værelser i god tid.

In another statement released hours later, Isil referred to Paddock by the nom de guerre Abu Abd al-Barr al-Amriki and said he had answered a call to arms by its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

In an audio message released on Thursday Baghdadi exhorted his followers to wage attacks against the West and «besiege them in every corner».

Observatører peger på, at IS sædvanligvis taler sandt.

“Despite popular opinion, they do not claim everything,” said Shiraz Maher, a lecturer in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. “They have not, for example, said anything about the Edmonton attack at this stage. By contrast, Marseille was claimed very quickly. When ISIS does claim something, there’s usually some degree of actual connection.”

Amarnath Amarasingam, a senior research fellow at the London-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue, told the Telegraph that the way in which Isil claims attacks was based on an established methodology.

“A lot of fighters I’ve asked were clear that there needs to be some connection, some contact and so on,” he said. “This makes logical sense, because their claims have to have some legitimacy. Their news agencies require credibility like any news agency.

“What I think is happening these days is that the linkages are getting sloppier and less rigorous.”

A propaganda video by ISIS that emerged in May called for a lone wolf attack on the Vegas Strip.

Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, the father of the Las Vegas shooter, was a serial bank robber and con-man who a 1960s FBI escaped prisoner poster described as «psychopathic» and «extremely dangerous.» In fact, he was so dangerous that he was put on the FBI’s most-wanted list for a number of years after escaping prison in the midst of a 20-year sentence for robbing a series of Arizona banks.

Hvor blev han arresteret?

Patrick Paddock was arrested on July 28, 1960, in Las Vegas, where he had fled after the bank robbery in Phoenix. “The FBI said Paddock tried to resist arrest and attempted to run down an agent with his car,” reports a July 28, 1960, article in the Citizen. “A shot was fired and Paddock surrendered.” The FBI agents found nearly $3,000 and a loaded .38 caliber revolver in his car.

BOMBSHELL: ISIS Claim Suggests Vegas Shooter May Have Been “Recent Convert to Islam”

Ét svar til “Stephen Paddock efterlader mange løse ender”

  1. Kim Freyberg siger:
