Marks & Spencer har lanceret årets bademode – i år med multikulturen for øje. For 49,50 pund kan du pynte dig fra top til tå, bokstavelig talt, i heldækkende burkini. De skryder:

‘covers the whole body with the exception of the face, hands and feet, without compromising on style. It’s lightweight so you can swim in comfort.’

Snart vil det vel være burkini til udleje i Europas svømmehaller slik at kvinderne må skylde på sig selv hvis de vælger normalt badetøj og bliver beriget i bassenget af overgribere.

Britene er ikke imponeret over sitt traditionelt højt respekterede flagskib, og kommentarene har ikke udeblevet:

One commenter replied that it was unfair that women had to dress up ‘like frogmen’ while men with ‘uncontrollable sexual urges’ could go swimming in tiny Speedo trunks, while another claimed that the head-to-toe garment showed the ‘oppression of women’.
